The Pierrepont Players is a collaborative group of friends exploring informal creative music-making. Combining aspects of peace-building and elements from the Curious Collaborative Creativity approach, we celebrate improvisational "musicking" experiences with others. All events are in Pierrepont, NY unless otherwise noted below.

- Women's Frame Drumming Workshop, Part 1 Potsdam, NY: Saturday, March 2nd, 1:00 to 2:30 pm
- Women's Frame Drumming Workshop, Part 2 Potsdam, NY: Saturday, April 20th, 1:00 to 2:30 pm
- Earth Day 2024: Monday, April 22nd, 5:00 to 7:00 pm where we will celebrate using recycled and repurposed items in music-making, and enjoy some home-made chili!
- World Labyrinth Day Drum for Peace: Saturday, May 4th, 12:30 to 1:30 pm
- Cinco de Mayo Festival, Watertown, NY: Sunday, May 5th 12:00 pm at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church. We will celebrate with a traditional Mexican-American lunch followed by multi-cultural Eco-Drumming for all ages.
- Summer Solstice Celebration: Thursday, June 20th, 5:00 to 7:00 pm featuring frame drumming, indigenous/cultural music-making, and hot-dogs over the campfire.
- Play Music on the Porch Day: Saturday, August 31st, 2:00 to 5:00 pm where our deck is the stage for all to share their music, and enjoy food, games and sing-a-long activities.
- Winter Solstice Campfire Gathering: Saturday, December 21st, 2:00 to 5:00 pm enjoying homemade Three Sisters Soup and solstice activities around a campfire.
We are located in the town of Pierrepont, NY in foothills of the Adirondack Mountains where we gather together on special occasions such as holidays, Earth Day, Solstices, World Music Day, and international Play Music on the Porch Day. These community gatherings include sharing our own improvisations using a variety of percussion instruments, Native American Style flutes, string instruments, and song singing. Included with our music-making, we incorporate activities derived from Caron's experience with Musicians Without Borders.
Every year on the first Saturday in May thousands of people around the globe participate in World Labyrinth Day as a moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience. Many “Walk as One at 1” local time to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next. Here, we will drum and walk our outdoor labyrinth on a lawn of moss. Bring your own frame drum or use one of ours. We will gather at 12:30 to introduce frame drumming and practice an easy drum rhythm. At 1:00 we will drum and walk the labyrinth followed by light refreshments. As a thank you for participating, take home your own personal affirmation meditation stone. Reservations are required, please respond at bandtchr1@hotmail.com for directions to our location. This is a "weather-permitting" event.
Cinco de Mayo Eco-drumming Gathering Sunday, May 5 at 1:30 pm in Watertown, NY :
You are invited to participate in-person OR virtually by Zoom at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Watertown, NY for an Eco-Drumming Workshop featuring Latin Rhythms of Mexico and Colombia, using instruments made from household and cast-off materials, Attendees of all ages will have the opportunity to decorate a seed-shaker rhythm instrument and being guided in different rhythms with provided drum-sticks. Bring your own bucket or non-breakable household item to use as a percussion instrument, or use one of ours. The public event can be found on Facebook HERE or receive details email here. |

The Pierrepont Players' events and gatherings are free and open to all. Our workshops may require reservations. We gladly accept donations to help defray our program costs.
